On 10 and
11 January, World Future Active organised intensive coaching sessions for
beneficiary groups on the Rusagara, Kivumu and Nyarurambi hills in the Commune
of Kigamba. This initiative was part of the "Innovative project to improve
agricultural production by recovering biodegradable waste through worm
composting" project implemented by World Future Active with funding from
the French Embassy through PISCAA, and its main aim was to improve the skills
of the 45 beneficiaries in cooperative management, the internal savings and
credit approach, and leadership within cooperative enterprises.
The first day of coaching focused on
several key points. Firstly, the beneficiaries deepened their understanding of
the principles and values of cooperation, emphasising the importance of working
together and sharing responsibilities. Secondly, particular attention was paid
to the management of the cooperative's governing bodies and the keeping of
rigorous cooperative accounts, to ensure greater transparency and efficiency in
the management of resources. Finally, participants were trained in human
resources management, with an emphasis on communication, motivation and
building skills within the cooperative enterprise.
This coaching activity demonstrates
World Future Active's commitment to promoting sustainable and innovative
practices for the socio-economic empowerment of women and girls through
increased agricultural production.
Thanks to funding from the French
Embassy via the PISCCA project, the organisation continues to build the
capacity of beneficiaries, enabling them to develop essential cooperative management
and leadership skills. These enhanced skills will contribute to improving the
viability and sustainability of cooperative enterprises, thereby promoting the
socio-economic and social development of the Kigamba community.
